Lucknow: The city was witness to a cultural extravaganza in the form of a Summer Cultural Festival on the joint occasion of Sant Kabir Jayanti, International Yoga Day and World Music Day.
Titled Sadho – Jag Darshan Ka Mela the festival was celebrated with dance, songs, music, arts, drama, poems and motivational discussions.
Battling this intense heat, with the hope of welcoming monsoons, the 3 day festival was organised at Urdu Academy Auditorium, Gomtinagar by Udaan Sanstha, in collaboration with Kabir Trust, Sant Kabir Academy, Urdu Academy and Dastak.
This cultural initiative that started from Buddha Jayanti on 23rd May, will continue till National Flag Day on 23rd July. In between which International Forgiveness Day etc. will also be celebrated. During this time, youth teams will present Kabir’s verses, street plays and cultural programs among college students, labor colonies etc.
While on one hand famous singers Kamalkant, Mahinderpal Singh, Rahul of Kabira Junction etc. created an atmosphere in the program with excellent songs, the dance drama based on the life of Kabir presented a different experience.
Noted dignitaries included Additional Chief Secretary Uttar Pradesh Government, Anil Kumar, Principal Secretary Social Welfare Dr. Hariom and Additional Chief Secretary (Language) Jitendra Kumar.
